November 2016

I am not going to go into details but I have been having some concerns with family and have not been able to upload new content in a while. Now I am home and very happy to be back at my craft table doing my thing again.

 This is where I found Gabby, hardly even cared that I was home after a 6-week absence. seriously Gabby not even a blink?

Of course these three drove me nuts with their attention. Tater of course was thrilled and smiled at me but his allergies made him itch terrible and I had to start his medication again. 

Bug and Lacey themselves in a way,
Bug seems to have pulled a muscle in her back leg probably thinking she's a young pup still. Like me the old bones and joints are not happy. Lacey moves at warp speed no matter what and she gave me nearly a bath with all the kisses.

For all you walking dead fans here is the latest from loot pets I wasn't here to do an unboxing but Tater is sporting the Negans little batters shirt. I get it but would have liked a Glen and Abraham shirt instead. I think. Right Tate?











Well, I am going to try to update a lot better than I have in the past. Story one, In July, I think, I started working with a trainer. With great expectations we began with 2 times a week. I pulled something at first I just thought it was a mucsle out of wack. Then it became more intense when I stopped moving. took advil and iced it, went to thechiropractors, didn't even workout for a few weeks. Finally went to the doctor, after a round of stupid steroids I am on some anti seizure medication that also works on inflammation. 

Story two, Work has been put on hold and although I like being home I have racked up some debt from getting going in my new position. Ok,Ok I didn't have to go get a new LED light but I wanted a bigger one than I had and the polishes were a bit dry, old or out of date. I wanted some that was fun. In any case I also paid for my comference to face and body show and I bought a few things thinking I was gonna pump it up, took a lah extension class, got some supplies and some facial products I could get behind. Now I am really behind. So do I risk my back and hang out at the shop or do I stay at home till I figure what's up?

Story three, got a call from family, usually no one calls me,  except my dad, so I knew something was up. Brother has some form of cancer in his esophagus. He never smoked, but we grew up in a small home with several smokers. Could be it is from having heart burn. He's going for a second opinion and tests are beginning. Apparently they want to see if it spread before they consider his options.We cant get a break this been a lousy couple of years. I don't react with the big things I would like to think I am strong when stuff like this happens. But alone with my thoughts and silent tears. I give myself a headache.

Conclusions, how can I be so whiney when all I have is back pain from being old?

A free online retreat that encourages and fosters women artists to be their authentic self. Seems a bit much doesn't it? Well I have paid for the ability to be a part of an artistic community that helps foster women to embrace themselves and be the artist they want to be. Frankly I believe that this course and it is free mind you, can be for anyone who needs to focus themselves and their goals. Doesn't have to be about art. Although the process of using art as a way of finding our goals and true self is certainly a part of this.

I imagine you don' t have to keep a journal but being a teacher in my mind part of every process of learning always involved writing. So keeping the journal is a pretty good idea. Including in it some art can help express some things that can't be done with words. Just sayin.

The very hardest part has been seeing my muse or answering some of the questions that we were asked in our class today. I eventually answered the questions but in some ways I am not sure if they are too general.

I so enjoyed the art process it was pretty cool.


So out of the answered questions we were to discover our manefesto for the rest of the class. I developed something eventually. Thankfully it's not a manuscript.

Mixed media has always been something I really enjoyed doing. You don't have to have exact things you just use what you have or what works. Sometimes it looks good and sometimes well lets leave it at that, shall we?

I started making some altered playing cards cause it actually looked fun and it was a way to warm up before heading into a long session of art work. So here is my latest version.

Woe is me. I try maybe not hard enough. The year started and I had every intention of blogging at least once a month. I may have even promised more than that but life well you know.

So I am at least checking in to say hi and to show you what is keeping me busy. Wish I could say it was my video taping but can't cause it seems there is a learning curve to the video editing process. I am trying though and someday I will be blogging monthly and weekly video uploading. We can only hope.

So, I am reflecting on my past 5 months and where I am there are more ideas than I can even state but let me try;

Can we say how fast the month has gone already? 

I am feeling the pressure of wanting to do it all before the end of the oh okay it's just the first month of the year but I am already behind on my ideas for the youtube channel not to mention the acrylic class with Cinnamon Cooney the Art Sherpa.

 I was going to do the event for the Pantone colors of the year but didn't  get it filmed. Then as I was trying to download some new software for editing my computer threw -up and is sick now. 

Now that doesn't mean you can't still enjoy the art going to happen.

January 9th 2016

Well beginning of the year and I have been very busy, spent the first part of this year with my Dad and Pat in Florida that was fun. I so enjoy being with them but I miss my home I loved when we lived across the street from each other. We could celebrate the Holidays and then go home to our own beds and no worries about the puppies. Sigh, I miss them. So I am back and recouped somewhat from my flight arrrgh I hate the flying thing. only cause it's 6 hours from destination a to be.

You will not believe how old he is and he still goes around does chores, helps friends, keeps himself busy as much as he can.




Such a week I know I promised to tell you about the new year tutorials I am going to do this year. Well I hope you checked out all the wonderful ones I hooked you up with.

Well the first one I joined was actually a birthday gift Jane Davenport's love her to pieces.


The second one is Jennibellies goal setting class yes I have great trouble keeping tabs on my youtube channel my blog and my art goals. So I hope this helps.



Then I bought myself another copy of Leonie Dawson Create your shining year 2016 of course


 I have last years and did okay but it got away from me. This year she has a date book that I was going to incorporate into my art goals.

THE Art Sherpa Cinnamon Cooney has a tutorial available that is going to take me from nothing to novice in my acrylic painting. Hope you'll watch for my uploads of photos for that. I'm about two weeks off on that one.

Last but not least I am trying to decide if I want to join the Polymerclay art retreat for this year. I did last year and it was great.


 My only problem is they have art jewelry and polymerclay art ugh I can't decide. let me see if I .....

January 1, 2016 Happy New Year

          Happy New Year Everyone! 2016 has arrived. 

Are you tired of it yet? Every email I have gotten has had some form of merriment holiday greetings or New Year greetings. For those that don't want to say Merry Christmas. Heck I don't really care what you say as long as you wish me well. I'll do the same for you. 

I can't believe all of the things I want to accomplish in just this month alone. There are tons of artists who have classes starting the I want to be a part of and yet I can't. Now don't get me wrong I am taking part in several arty adventures and I want to share that process (I will on youtube mimi's musings) But I know I can't do it all financially sure but physically more so. I already have a room to myself and lots of my crafty supplies fall over into boxes outside the room mind you. I can't have my space make it impossible for me to work. Time I work and I am limited to the amount of precious time I can put into my "hobby"

They are very affordable and you have the feeling of being her bestie when your done. How can you not feel loved when someone smiles at you all the time. She just makes you feel like she is having the best time in her life and you get happy too. I don't know how she does it.
