milk carton treat holder march 2019

Here is my take on a milk carton treat holder for spring. I give them to the secretaries at the schools I visit and I think everyone likes a treat once in a while. So say happy spring and let's make some more. Inspired by so many on youtube like' scrimping mommy, paper pixie, and pootles papercraft.

Using a cardstock 81/4" x 51/2"
score long side at 1-7/8, 3-7/8, 5-5/8, 7-1/2
score short side at 1-7/8, 3-3/4, 5"

Mark the 1st and 3rd boxes on the top at the halfway point. To score a triangle for the milk carton top.
From the center mark to the intersecting lines on either side score a triangle.  Burnish all the folds. You may not be able to get the triangles to fold sharp but you can start them and then crisp them up once the box is made.

Mats should be measured on the box you make, everyone's boxes can be slightly different than another but just as a starting point. 1-3/4 x 1-3/4 mats should work. If you want to add additional matting just go down in size 1/8th of an inch on either side or to your liking.

I used glue to fold and punched holes at the top to thread string through to keep it closed. add your own sentiments.

These make cute gifts for craft fairs. I'm sure you can think of lots of things to put in them. Comment below if you make any.

Paper pumpkin alternative cards march 2019

My alternative card for March 2019

Happy Engagement!! Congratulations!

I wanted a simple yet different kind of card to say how happy I was to hear my son had gotten engaged. So I had to move quickly because waiting around for inspiration, in this case, wasn't going to cut it. Their happy news was thrilling to me and I wanted them to know as soon as possible. Video after video of cards for a wedding just didn't' fit the bill for me. Then in the mail was my paper pumpkin subscription. Here is the result of that.

Yes, I could have added more to the blank inside but what I didn't show you is my heartfelt joy on their announcement so I needed the blank space. It is plain on the outside but the card is all about the cake and I was happy with the results.

Ok ok, I didn't use Stampin up ribbon. At the moment I only have colorful ribbons and wanted something to make the card more weddinglike.

Thanks for being here and let me know what you think.
