January 1, 2016 Happy New Year

Happy New Year Everyone! 2016 has arrived.

Are you tired of it yet? Every email I have gotten has had some form of merriment holiday greetings or New Year greetings. For those that don't want to say Merry Christmas. Heck I don't really care what you say as long as you wish me well. I'll do the same for you.

I can't believe all of the things I want to accomplish in just this month alone. There are tons of artists who have classes starting the I want to be a part of and yet I can't. Now don't get me wrong I am taking part in several arty adventures and I want to share that process (I will on youtube mimi's musings) But I know I can't do it all financially sure but physically more so. I already have a room to myself and lots of my crafty supplies fall over into boxes outside the room mind you. I can't have my space make it impossible for me to work. Time I work and I am limited to the amount of precious time I can put into my "hobby"

Ok so here are a few of the lusciousness I wanted to be a part of please go check them out if you wish.

Life Book: http://www.willowing.org/life-book-2016/
Possibly the most important class I ever took in my life. It exposed me to several different styles of artists as well as gave me the confidence to continue. I also have to say that I was totally blessed by finding this class. More later.

Jennibellie: http://journalworkshops.ning.com/
She has loads of just fun things to do and learn and share. Your have to subscribe to this lady just for her lovely enthusiasm. It's contagious.
Another place you absolutely must go to is to Jennibellies youtube video's that is where all of my nonsense began. I made a journal out of christmas cards. (Youtube video in future.)

Jane Davenport: http://janedavenport.com/
I have taken several classes with Jane and I love when her dogs get into the frame of her videos so check out her youtube videos too! They are very affordable and you have the feeling of being her bestie when your done. How can you not feel loved when someone smiles at you all the time. She just makes you feel like she is having the best time in her life and you get happy too. I don't know how she does it.

Effy: http://effybird.com/
She speaks to me in so many ways and I am always awed at what she does. I want you to go check out her blog and really look through what she has to offer. If you do nothing else learn how she suggests to go through a class. I will never take a class the same way again. I am not going to let the cat out of the bag but it is a process that helps you to retain more information and get more of your monies worth out of any class you take.

Polymer Clay Adventure; onlineartretreats.com
A truly inspiring group of women, who I started this adventure last year. It was a birthday gift to myself. A year of Polymer Clay Art with different teachers, handouts, videos and of course good information regarding supplies and tools that you can get on this site as well. Don't judge me of course I bought stuff. It was fun we did swaps and get to see everyones style I loved it.

November 1, 2015

Daylight savings time and it is Sunday night. I thought I would have gotten an extra hour sleep but no. When I woke up I thought it was almost 10:00. It wasn't even 8 am. ugh.

Seems I am going to have to post at night since I can't seem to get all my desires done during the day. So I'll be a day behind. No worries thou I have always been a day late and dollar short.

My youtube channel Mimi's musings has not been active for about a month maybe with very little action. I know that followers prefer continuous postings but this is for fun and some weeks there isn't much to jabber about.

I like to think that people don't want to waste their precious time so I will try to be quick and simple.

Thanks for reading, thanks for watching. I am planning to do a calender to send away to my niece and nephew so come over and watch me try to dothat this month. TTFN

I am a craft hoarder

Hi, my name is Mimi, and I am a craft hoarder.

Every time I read or watch someone in a magazine, on TV or YouTube I immediately want to go buy those products. When someone lists the products they used and say I have included the website where you can buy these items. CLICK, I'm there and there is always some interesting things I don't have yet.  In some cases I do have them already and they exist somewhere in my closet or drawers. Now I have every intention of completing the tasks that I set my little heart to do but then I'm off to work and when I finally get time to actually do what I intended I see something new and exciting to do.

So what do I do?
Is there a 12 step program for craft addicts? (don't say that too fast)  Now I'm not going to stop anytime soon reading or watching my favorite arty people. But I have to get a handle on my purchases. I decided to create my own 6 step program, I'm not sure I can even think of 12 steps so here is 6 if your interested.

1) Be realistic, make list of what I want to do for this year.
More often than not I am interested in everything. But not everything is interesting. So I have to choose wisely. What will I spend my time doing?  jewelry making, drawing, journals, clay creatures, gifts, painting, watercolors, colored pencil drawings, gourd art, crochet jewelry, needlepoint crafts.

2) Stop procrastinating! Get started on some of those projects. Make it a priority. Create Art every free moment! Drawing in the living room, crafts outside on the deck and polymer clay in the art room

3) Don't rush to buy. If it's not on my agenda to use right now. -Unless it's something I use and it's on-sale or I have a coupon.

4) Before I buy make sure it can do double duty. Can I use it for more than one project?  Of course!

5) Do I have something that can substitute. Does it have to be that product? Probably but I can't find it.

6) Wait 24 hours before purchasing.Unless it's a sale and the coupon is only good for one day.

Why do I try? I think I'll just stop feeling guilty. I think there's a sale at Michael's and I have a coupon. See ya.

On etsy

Now you can see some of my creations on Etsy.com
Maryanne's creative mix is my blog and g-mail but on Etsy I am known as
Designs by MJM Stop on over and like the items you like. It will give me an idea of what people think.

Creative Beings How Do You Cope?

Not to be laboring over some things but I have a mighty mess on my craft table. I can't seem to get anything put away or completed. I want to do it all at the same time so my mind thinks of something and I want to change gears and start doing that to see it will work. I am going to have to start writing down my ideas so that I can get my craft room organized. I have been in school and working so I steal moments to actually create any thing. What do you do when you have so much to do and a list of things you want to do?

I'll have to start here I go.

#lovesummerart amazing

The weekend has been un-real. I have been busy getting my youtube postings uploaded and I keep trying to make it better.

This youtube event is so exciting. In search put in #lovesummerart and all the creative artsy people who are involved will have new posts about their process and art and crafts and creating musings. It's for anyone who is looking loving and longing for artistic creative videos.

I for one cannot get through it all in one sitting. One moment I'm on a video and the next I want to created then I want to go see what's happening next.

The best bet is to go and like the video's so you can go back and finish watching them. I also think that putting in the media you would like to see is also helpful for example; #lovesummerart polymer clay.... of #lovesummerart acrylic painings. see? You can try everyday this weekend and it will be different each day.

I am so stoked about this I can't stop checking the channel. Come on and join
